Introduction

Humanity has always tried to relate the Mystical and the Moral (Good verses Evil).
The Ism expresses this dilemma by joining the styles of creativity that link to each perspective. The Mystical links to aesthetic design (process) and the Moral links to meaningful art (product).

I started the work by trying to find a spiritual art in a diary of meaningful sculptures. After I had a mystical experience I began abstract expressionist paintings. Unconsciously I began to link these art forms in environmental art and computer installations. The link was taken further in a mystical synthesis that is an interactive process and in a moral synthesis that is an art event/product. The final work links the opposites by ritual but ultimately the two perspectives are separate.

Mystical & Moral

The MYSTICAL relates to the pure Energy/Matter before it is Formed. It is the primal reality that is the source of all opposites. It is a formless energy, a process constantly changing. It is neither meaningful nor meaningless, everything just is what it is, a thing-in-itself. This mystical state of Nirvana is a natural experience that cannot be fully described as it is prior to concepts (abstract). It is the being of becoming - natural, eternal, universal, feminine, Jungian, transcendent and non-dualistic.

A creative process is an event e.g. design, dance and music.

The MORAL relates to the Form that shapes pure Energy/Matter. It is the philosophy of opposites, such as Good and Evil, light and dark, subject and object. It has meaningful concepts and aims at an end product. The moral struggle is a human struggle and the moral God has human (figurative) qualities. It is the becoming of being - technological, historical, individual, masculine, Freudian, sublime and dualistic.

A creative product is a final object, e.g. a painting or a sculpture that has meaning beyond itself.
