This is a small, friendly, thriving Art Society, with a membership of around seventy.

Meetings are held in the Village Hall twice monthly, between September & May (with the
exception of January).  These include Workshops, Demonstrations, Appraisals and a
Competition.  In addition there are General Painting sessions at which a subject is set for
members work on their own.

During the summer months one or two outings are arranged to give members an opportunity
to meet and paint outdoors for the day.

During the winter months meetings are held from 2pm to 4pm.  All other meetings are held
from 7pm to 9pm.  Workshops are usually a full day - 10am to 4pm.

The Annual Exhibition is held for one week in August.  All members are invited to exhibit
several pieces of their work (subject to the rules).  Every member is expected to volunteer
for at least one duty (on the door or helping with refreshments) and to contribute something
towards the refreshments - either in goods or cash.

In December there is a Christmas Special and a Memorial Competition, the subject of which is
set by the Committee each year.  There is also a Supper at this meeting and members are
asked to bring a contribution towards this.  Friends are welcome.

The Annual General Meeting is held in April.  Appointments of Officials and Committee
Members are made at this meeting.  The Officials are:- Chairman, Deputy Chairman,
Secretary and Treasurer.  There are also five Committee Members who serve a 3 year term.
The position of President is honorary and is awarded annually to a member in recognition of
their service to the Society.

The Annual Subscription is payable at the Annual General Meeting or not
later than 31st July.

Application for Membership must be made in writing to the Secretary, together with the
names of two members as sponsors.

Inexperienced artists are welcomed - we all learn from each other.
