Hints and Tips Acrylics

Galleria Acrylic flow formula acrylic paint

Ideal for the artist needing acrylics that are both high quality and economical. There are 40 strong and vibrant colours to choose from. Galeria acrylics are versatile and suitable for many different techniques, intermixable with other acrylics, and can be diluted with water. They are easy to use and retain their consistency. They can be applied on paper, canvas, hardboard, wood, stonework, and plaster. To apply to smooth surfaces such as glass and metal, an undercoat is necessary. They correspond to the safety standard EN 71/1. Galeria acrylics are available in 60ml tubes and 250ml and 500ml squeeze bottles. The bottle neck is big enough for brushes and palette knives to be dipped in. The nozzle allows the paint to be dispensed accurately on the palette or direct onto the painting. As with all acrylics, equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use

How do I remove wet acrylic colour from fabric (i.e. clothes)?
The colour can be removed from clothes when wet by padding the back of the fabric to avoid the colour spreading and rub with a cloth dampened with water. Follow by washing with soap and warm water. Some staining may nevertheless still occur because the pigment becomes entangled in the fibres of the cloth and cannot be physically removed. We find that some detergents fix pigment in to the fabric so bar soap and / or dry cleaning is preferred to machine washing. Our advice is to always use protective clothing/ aprons when using acrylic colours because of the difficulty in cleaning them from fabrics.
