Farfield Mill is home to 15 studios which are occupied by an exciting variety of artists and craft workers. Their work ranges from green wood work to knitwear design, ceramics and jewellery to painting and textiles. The Mill not only contains these studio spaces, it hosts resident artists exhibitions and runs a regularly changing programme of exhibitions as well as being a thriving retail space with a fully licensed tea room. It also offers heritage displays of the weaving and mill history, and has two working Victorian style Dobcross Looms. The Mill is approx a mile east of Sedbergh and is situated in the midst of the glorious Howgill hills by the River Clough an inspirational setting. Sedbergh is a 10 minute drive from Junction 37 of the M6.

We are looking for artists and contemporary craft makers to join our team of Farfield Artists. Both established and new makers are encouraged to apply for studios but we are particularly interested in individuals whose work fits with the Mill vision. Farfield Mill is striving towards becoming a centre of excellence for textiles; art, design and manufacture. We will give priority to textile artists when considering studio applications, but we will always have a variety of high quality makers, artists and craftspeople so all are encouraged to apply.

General Studio Information
Prices £6.50 per sq ft. Sizes range from : 130 sq ft to 480 sq ft (when 2 or 3 studios combine to offer more space). Power is supplied to all units and charged quarterly. Some units have water/sink facilities.
