Ruth Livesey. After exhibiting for the last five years I can honestly say that the event is really special. Wonderful to be able to offer opportunities for people of all ages to come and freely participate in the creation of an art work. Exhibiting at the Art and Craft Trail is a wonderful place to interact with all age groups in a beautiful relaxed area. Free workshops and venues mean that people can both take part, talk to the artists and look at a wide variety of art work.

Wray Scarecrow Festival.

All through the winter the quaintly snowed-in rural folk of Wray Village have been eccentrically passing the time engaged in their indigenous craft - making fabulous scarecrows! The streets, lanes and alleyways of this picturesque village will be populated by tableaux and fantasy creations on all kinds of themes - politics, TV and more. I think we can expect some royal scarecrows for sure. There will be delicious and cheap home-made refreshments in Wray Institute all week. There will be a display of costumes and flowers with music at Holy Trinity Church. You just have to go. If our council had any sense they'd organise special buses.

This exhibition of mixed media artwork takes its inspiration from the local landscape of Morecambe Bay: its stories, its histories and its secrets. Five artists working across a range of media, including film, photography, painting and textiles have taken a variety of approaches to exploring and representing the Bay area, drawing on archival material from the Maritime Museum’s collections.

An exhibition of designer chairs on loan from the Design Museum in London.
This seemingly straight forward object has become an icon of design, filling the archives of design museums across the world, demanding more cultural space and higher prices than any other piece of furniture.
A Century of Chairs encourages us to consider the significance of chair design over the past 100 years. It illustrates how designers have responded to shifts in the way we choose to rest our legs, and how they have made use of new materials and technologies to create beautiful, sculptural forms.
A series of talks and exhibition tours will take place throughout the duration of the exhibition
