Exhibition
Donald is a retired Art Teacher who
worked for 35 years in Lancashire Schools. He spent several years as
moderator for G.C.S.E. Art and Design, visiting many schools within
the County to assess work. He retired as Head of Arts and Technology
from Mansfield High School, Brierfield. Since retiring Donald has devoted most of
his time to painting, constantly experimenting with ideas and
materials in an attempt to create works which are personal to him.
Based primarily on the Landscape his work has its origins in
drawings and colour studies, developing these into paintings which
are about a place, rather than a depiction of it. He undertakes lectures and demonstrations
for Art Societies and exhibits quite widely in the North West. One
of his paintings, “Extwistle Hall,” featured in the Lancashire Life
magazine in January 2010. |

Printfest
Printfest usually takes place in May Printfest is northern Britain’s only print fair held in a rural location and is dedicated solely to the exhibition and sale of original contemporary prints. It offers the visiting and local public the opportunity to view and purchase contemporary art works, meet the artists and find out more about printmaking. Work from more than 40 national and international artists will be exhibited and the Printfest 2010 commissioned work by our Printmaker of the Year, Anja Pervical, will be unveiled. The PRINTFEST weekend is supported by outreach activity, including workshops in local schools and master classes for local artists. |
