North Yorkshire Open Studios

A free event that combines culture, breathtaking views and a chance to hone your navigation skills.
During weekends in June, artists and makers across the whole of North Yorkshire will invite the public into a host of intriguing spaces. From hidden locations on the North Yorkshire Moors and harbour side huts in Whitby and Scarborough to suburban living rooms in Harrogate and beautiful back gardens in the remote Yorkshire Dales.

The Garstang Arts Centre Open Exhibition, held in both rooms, will be open to the public from Tuesday January 10^th to February 11^th.  Artists from all over Lancashire and South Cumbria have been invited to exhibit their work, so there will be a variety of work in a different styles and media on display. The Exhibition will be judged by Elizabeth Smithies and Chris Tindall from Cockerham. The exhibition will be well worth visiting and most of the paintings will be for sale.

SAMLESBURY HALL FARMERS MARKET & CRAFT FAIR

THE LAST SUNDAY IN EVERY MONTH 10AM - 3PM

Lancashire's newest Farmer's Market, combining a delicious display of the county's finest produce with amazing hand-made art and craft stalls. The day includes over 40 indoor and outdoor food and craft stalls as well as courtyard food displays. The Art Gallery will be open to view exhibitions, and maybe you will buy a painting or piece of craft. West Wing antiques, is a definite place to visit or dine on our seasonal menus at the restaurant-cafe. Plus the Samlesbury gift shop, featuring fabulous creative art and crafts, distinctive gifts and local produce.

SILVERDALE ART and CRAFT TRAIL
June each Year

Silverdale and Arnside annual Art and Craft Trail  2011 40 local and visiting individual and group exhibitors will welcome visitors into their homes, studios and exhibitions to view or purchase their work and participate in a number of expertly-run workshops.

Now in its seventh year the Art and Craft Trail is hosted by two villages within the Areas of Outstanding National Beauty, Silverdale and Arnside. The Trail is the largest of its kind in Lancashire. The main trail opens on the Friday from 5pm to 8pm and runs 11am to 5pm on the Saturday and Sunday. Ruth Livesey. After exhibiting for the last five years I can honestly say that the event is really special. Wonderful to be able to offer opportunities for people of all ages to come and freely participate in the creation of an art work. Exhibiting at the Art and Craft Trail is a wonderful place to interact with all age groups in a beautiful relaxed area. Free workshops and venues mean that people can both take part, talk to the artists and look at a wide variety of art work.

Five artists explore the landscape of Morecambe Bay.
Richard Davis, Gerry Hickson, Priscilla Jones, Christine Stanford, Ann Woodfine.
This exhibition of mixed media artwork takes its inspiration from the local landscape of Morecambe Bay: its stories, its histories and its secrets. Five artists working across a range of media, including film, photography, painting and textiles have taken a variety of approaches to exploring and representing the Bay area, drawing on archival material from the Maritime Museum’s collections.

Printfest takes place on Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May 2011 from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Our Private View takes place on the evening of Friday 29 April from 7.00 to 9.00 pm.

Work from more than 40 national and international artists will be exhibited and the Printfest 2011 commissioned work by our Printmaker of the Year will be unveiled.
